The House Bunny
Genre : Comedy
Plot : Playboy playmate teaching sorority nerds to how become popular.
If you guys watched the latest Scary Movie series, Scary Movie 5, then you guys must have notice Anna Faris who plays the lead actress. I think the best way to begin my review is to give you guys a little bit of idea what is this movie all about.
Anna Faris is a very popular playmate in the playboy mansion and in this movie, she plays a very typical blonde girl and she possesses all the qualities that a blonde is usually associated with, in short, a dumb blonde. Envy of her popularity, she was evicted by her enemy in the mansion and while looking for an alternative job to support herself, she came across an university and just somehow stumbled upon The Zeta House and became the “House Mother”. There are several houses in the university and they can be equated with the likes of clubs in local colleges.
The role of the “House Mother” is to handle all the operations of the house including promoting it to recruit new members to keep the house alive. However, Zeta House is one of those laid back house where all the unpopular people join. As the movie progress, it shows how Anna Faris instills all the qualities of a dumb blonde, pretty but brainless into these few girls who were the original members of the Zeta House. Their aim is to get 30 members at the end of a stipulated period of time failing which the house will be abolished. From here on, you pretty much can predict how the whole movie went.
I must say, to my surprise this movie is actually quite entertaining. It was hilarious, so to speak. In addition to that, you get to see Katherine McPhee which i have always considered as one of the better looking American Idols but the one thing weird is that, she is pregnant in this movie. Why is that? Other than her, you also get to see another girl who looks extremely like Lindsay Lohan after going through all the necessary metamorphosis.
In conclusion, this movie is quite a treat.
My rating : 4/5
