Day 1 – Chinese New Year

January 26, 2009 shani 2 comments

Like all any other ordinary day, my mom will come in and disturb my sleep but only this time i will wake up with no further hesitation because my mom told me to wake up, eat breakfast and then take “angpow” =D

Mee Suah

Mee Suah

I don’t know how long have we been practicing this custom that is we must eat “Mee Suah” on the first morning of Chinese New Year along together with 2 hard boiled eggs, each person.

So, dead.

So beautiful to look at T___T

I don’t know what this symbolizes or represents but all i know is, eating 2 hard boiled egg at one shot is pure hardcore shi-

Must Not Overcooked!

Must Not Overcooked!

The trick in cooking Mee Suah is not to let it boil in the soup for too long until it is soggy and not too short a time either. It’s an act of balancing both in the hand but as usual, my dad tends to overcook everything that goes under his hands -.-

Deep Fried Wantan

Deep Fried Wantan

You guys must be surprised on why is my dad cooking instead of my mom, this is a question that bugged me for as long as i lived. If my dad is at home during the time when food must be prepared and nobody is seen doing so, he will take matters into his own hands and believe me, it is not going to be a pretty sight T___T however, the deep fried wantans he made today’s morning was excellent =’)

Gold Packet =D

Gold Packet =D

The moment that i’ve been waiting for T___T apparently this year, CIMB Club gives out gold color red packets which is very beautiful instead of the traditional red. Want to know how much i got *giggles*

Ill write you a cheque - Dad

"I'll write you a cheque" - Dad

Last year when he was distributing the red packets to my siblings and me, he told us that he will be writing us cheques instead because there isn’t really any point for them to go to the bank, withdraw the money, gave it to us only to find that we bank it into the bank on the next working day. It is a complete waste of time. I thought he was joking but i guess he’s not o_O! whatever it is, i’m RM2,000.00 richer mofos >=)

*woof, woof, woof, WOOF!* ^^

*woof, woof, woof, WOOF!* ^^

If you don’t already know, my parents treats my dog even better than they treat their own son, namely me T___T and this is illustrated with the fact that my mom most frequently referred to me as “Zoe” or referred to my dog using my name :T__T: So with that in mind, since everyone is getting red packets for Chinese New Year, of course Zoe is going to get one too but there is a freaking reason why red packets are not issued to dogs, here’s why

D:

By right we should pay a visit to my father’s family side today but we didn’t because my dad allocated time for us to go and collect red packets from our friends on the first day of Chinese New Year, yes… the FIRST day of Chinese New Year ._. how convenient. After telling him that there’s no way that’s going to happen, he suggested that we should all just sleep in and we did.

Moral of the story is, always remind your dad that nobody visits people other than their family members on the FIRST day of Chinese New Year otherwise you will get pwnt.

End of Day 1.

Reunion Dinner

January 25, 2009 shani Leave a comment

I just came back from the “Reunion Dinner” my little nucleus family and i had in Sheraton, Subang and i must say, it’s not a place that i would recommend to anyone going even if they ran out of choice.

POV (4th passenger)

POV (4th passenger)

When we left our house at around 1810hrs, it was raining and this was really unexpected because never once, even if on rare occassions that the week before leading to Chinese New Year, there will be no one day that rain but this year, things sort of messed up. My dad said he heard somewhere from the news that mother nature is melting the icebergs on the Artic to counter the effects of global warming which explains the strange phenomena that’s happening lately.

Sheraton, Subang

We were amongst the first few who arrived there.

The Dome

The Dome

Nothing much to brag about its design and architecture, it’s very down to earth and not something like you don’t see in your everyday life.

Where Tables Sat

Where Tables Sat

I didn’t bother taking any pictures of the food served because it i find it redundant to show you guys how a steam prawn would look like or what colors are chocolate cakes. The buffet counter is very small and it’s only about 20 ~ 30 dishes including the dessert table.

Miniature Orchids

Miniature Orchids

For the price of RM50.00++ per person, it’s not worth it at all. Oh well, tomorrow is the first day of Chinese New Year and what’s the plan? No plan, that’s the plan for tomorrow.

Happy Halloween!

Not So “Happy” Anymore

January 25, 2009 shani Leave a comment

Few months back, i found out this one cellular telecommunication provider called “Happy” that turns out to be a subsidiary of DIGI apparently and the rates that they are charging is very attractive. They go with the tagline “your calls will be no more than 99cents”. Well, true to a certain extend because you’re capped at 45minutes. Whatever it is, this is still the best and ideal rates for people like me who chats with my girlfriend on the phone right before we sleep. Until recently, they decided that it’s time to lose some customers >=(

Happy, Obliterated

Happy, Obliterated

They started imposing conditions for call charges and that is what made me angry. Now, the 99cents offer only applies to calls made from one Happy line to another and that is must be made within the period what they called the “Happy Hour”. So what time exactly is “Happy Hour”?. The answer is, 0900hrs to 1700hrs which is the normal working hours. I don’t really see how is general working hours are considered as “Happy Hours”, it’s not like people would spent 45minutes boiling on the phone with their best buddies during that period of time unless they want to get their ass fired.

Hotlink FTW!

Hotlink FTW!

I seeked for an alternative and found Hotlink, Maxis’s prepaid club. The only thing that caught my attention was the Super Savers promotion, RM4.00 for 40minutes worth of talk time from 0000hrs onwards and RM2.00 after 0200hrs. Since both my girlfriend and i are somewhat nocturnal in nature, we don’t usually go to bed before 0200hrs. this i think although not the best way of saving money but it is a great plan for me to save big ass cash flow.

Whatever it is, the started pack i bought was priced at RM8.80 and topping up RM10.00 right after activation, you’ll be given RM15.00 worth of airtime that will be credited into your account monthly for 3 months =D

Going out for my Chinese New Year Reunion Buffet Dinner at Sheraton later =D
